bodywork

A body-based therapeutic treatment that addresses the whole body to improve its overall function, movement and levels of energy in daily activity.

Each visit is customized to accommodate every client differently and to their comfort level. The treatment can be vigorous or gentle depending on the need or preference of the client. However the foundation combines:

sound/vibration healing

The use of sound waves and vibrations from instruments such as chakra singing bowls, tuning forks, chimes and gongs to clear, release and stimulate Healing in the body’s cells.

This allows the brain waves to slow down to a deep restorative state.

cupping

“Where there’s stagnation, there will be pain. Remove the stagnation, and you remove the pain.”

Cupping is Traditional Chinese Medicine technique that uses small glass jars as suction devices that are placed on the skin to disperse and break up stagnation and congestion in the muscles.


moxibustion

Moxibustion is a form of heat therapy in Chinese medicine. What you see in the photo is a rolled stick made of dried ground mugwort leaves. Mugwort is historically used as a herbal inhibitor for menstrual cycles and to provide relieve symptoms from menopause. It causes stimulation and the release of endorphins to block pain. The moxa stick is heated and very carefully  brought close to but not touching the body.

 Additional Benefits:

  • After a few applications it relieves joint and arthritis pain

  • Stimulates blood circulation

  • Unlocks and invigorates energy flow in the body


Herbal Compress

This compress is personally handmade to each client. Once heated it induces muscle relaxation while  revitalizing and nourishing the skin. Some of the lavish herbs that are used: Lavender, Calendula, Peppermint, Eucalyptus, Ginger and Turmeric!

Additional Benefits:

  • Reduces swelling 

  • Soothes aches, Muscle spasms, pulled muscles, Headaches and even congested lungs. This is especially helpful during the colder months.

  • *Bonus: Each client is sent home with their personally handcrafted Herbal Compress!

Hot Stone Healing

The use of hot stones during Bodywork can relieve chronic pain, reduce stress and promotes deep relaxation.

It also improves flexibility in joints, relax muscle tension and even show an improvement in overall muscle tone.


Thai Bodywork

Thai Bodywork is a form of massage and energy work.  It is done on the floor Thai mat and you get to wear your comfy clothes!

This ancient practice includes deep compression, stretching, pulling, and rocking techniques to relieve tension, release stress, promote relaxation, increase clarity, and improve flexibility and circulation.

It has been known for reducing the severity of headaches, decrease lower-back and joint pain, increase flexibility, calm anxieties, and energize the mind and body. If there is an underlying health condition, be sure to find out from your doctor if this form of massage is safe for you.
